Car has idling issues. mechanic says its Variable timing solenoid?

I'm on the second mechanic for this issue, looking for some help.
My 02 RSX S will start, idle for a bit then turn shut down. The first mechanic replaced the gas pump, but the problem still persisted. He tried to solve it, but then gave and said it was not a mechanical problem, but rather an electrical issue. I took it to the guy across the street, he now says it's the camshaft position sensor, but he left town and one of the technicians at the same place said it's the variable timing solenoid. He went to the local parts store, and they said they only sell it at the dealership.

My question is, have any of you have had idling issues before and how did you resolve it. 2. What does the variable timing solenoid do?
First post here, hope I'm not too annoying.

My plans for it is a simple kit, a few engine mods such as Intake, Headers, Exhaust, and a Tune. But other than that i'm looking solely for a dialed ride with good fitment, and low enough to look stancy but not too low due to the fact that my roads aren't too great where I live. Brake Fluid Flush Quick Question

Hey guys,

Just have a quick question about the brake fluid flushing.

I was thinking of buying some cheaper brake fluids to flush the system with, before using the more pricier Honda OEM Dot 3 Brake Fluids to fill up.

I am planning to buy 3-4 bottles of the 1L Honda OEM Brake Fluids and maybe a cheaper, larger jug brake fluid in blue or some really contrasting color just so I can tell the difference later when putting in the OEM fluid. If anyone knows of cheap brake fluids sources or sites, please post a link here too ^^;;

Is this a good or bad idea, anyone tried it to save a few extra $?

If this is not recommended, I will not do it and just use OEM to flush~

I finished my battery relocation the other week and now all of a sudden my digital distribution block (Xscorpion DMANL3034P) is displaying a voltage of 0.00V. I know this is incorrect as I have a digital display on my positive battery terminal which reads the correct voltage and everything is operating properly. Has anyone else encountered a problem like this?

2002 type s trouble starting

This is my first k series, done about everything there is to do on a b...

Bought it from a guy who had the intake torn off to change the starter.

Said it ran before starter went bad though so i picked it up and put it back together just enough to see if it'll run. Now I've got fuel, spark, and good compression but does not start... Turns over but doesn't even try to start. Even with a shot of starting ether doesn't Even pick up at all. Like i said pulled the plugs and am getting spark, but the plugs are getting wet after trying.

Given the good even compression and that it supposedly ran before I'm thinking its not timing.

Is there something stupid and little I might have missed when reassembling that would prevent it from starting? A lot of sensors in not familiar with now. I didn't notice any grounds coming off the intake either if there are any other than for the injectors.

One last note, I took a lighter to the wet gas smelling spark plug but it did not ignite. I did pop the fuel lone and drain some though that did, but it smelled old. Are these particularly touchy with old sitting gas?

Brake Fluid Flush Quick Question

Hey guys,

Just have a quick question about the brake fluid flushing.
