There I stumbled upon this brand BRAUM, I had no idea this brand existed. But, they do. Looking at their product this particular model grab my attention S8 Series Racing, have any of you use their product before? Their seats don't look bad at all. :hmm:

Screeching/ grinding sound 04 rsx-s

Hello guys need some advice, so I recently purchased a new rsx-s. When I test drove it everything was fine, after a week from the purchase i noticed a screeching sound coming from yhe car. It only happens in 2nd and 3rd gear its a very light sound and goes away after i push the clutch in. It comes and goes sometimes you can't even hear it just mostly the first 5 minutes of driving.. any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.

K20A2 swap into base (domt kill me until you read!!)

Ive searched. Not just here, but other forums too, so be gentle and hear me out before you say this horse has been beaten enough.

I have a 2002 Type S. The car suffered some rear end damage and its no longer road worthy. I picked up a 2004 base auto in really good shape. Guy said "bad engine". I don't care because I want my A2 in it. Now, I know this can be done, it's like legos. Where im asking for help is regarding the immobilizer. Neither ECU is modified, but I have a hunch, so here goes:

Since I have both complete cars, why can't I swap out the ignition switch, door lock cylinders, ECU, and immobilizer all at once and just basically use my 2002 key and fob with the new 2004 body? Or CAN I do that without issue?

I just havent seen this specific question be answered. It seems to make logical sense to me, but we know how logic is. Sorry for beating a dead horse guys. Any feedback is appreciated and thanks in advance!

RSX Type S: Acceleration Issue, Bogging Issue, Starting Issue

My Car:

04 Type-S, 173,000 Miles -- 3rd owner.
Life of Clutch : Unknown, but felt great when I purchased the car

Initial Problems:

1. 3rd gear syncro issue >> Shift around 4200 into 3rd for now
2. Car smelled like gas >> found cracks on plastic assembly housing at the top>> replaced whole fuel pump assembly with one from ebay.
3. Car randomly has a hard time starting >> checked battery, was low so I replaced. >>checked for corrosion and replaced + battery terminal

Current problem:

Car all of a sudden now has this issue with acceleration, mostly in the midrange area. Also I get these random 1st gear (low rpm) bogs from a stop, and has stalled on me once or twice on a hill). In almost every gear the rpms kind of pause / stop around 3k and then hesitate / slowly crawl up to vtec - and then BAM the power kicks in like crazy. But before that happens the car is just not moving at all - any other car will drive right by me in this range. And... the random hard starting issue is still there. When it does it it takes forever to start.

So I started thinking what this could be..

Map Sensor? I just replaced it > Seemed to help for a little bit but then all symptoms came back.

Then I stupidly realized I was using 87 octane for a while and not 91 octane. Why? Because I used to own a base model rsx and totally forgot. I just switched back to 91 octane- but still about 1/4 tank of 87 still is in there.

Then I thought could this be related to the wrong gas? Did it kill my spark plugs? Or cause a clog somewhere? Maybe screwed up the new fuel pump? I know the ecu will compensate for the 87 for the timing.

Then I just started thinking it could maybe be my clutch slipping? But I doubt it as my rpm's aren't moving up during this loss of power.

Clogged Injector? Clogged TPS sensor? Clogged air filter?




Car is painted Milano RED, and im starting to think it is the rsx from hell lol .

Any help would be great :)

Hey all 02 RSX Type S

So I've been looking on Craigslist and OfferUp for a sporty car for a month and ended getting my 02 RSX Type S, which I just bought today for 3k with 145k. This is my 2nd car ever and is a huge step up from the Chevy Blazer I had.

The mods I know of are a hondata k-pro, DC Sports Intake, Short throw shifter, coilovers? (idk yet), rims, and some sort of race exhaust that sounds loud but not a fart can. I know I got this car for a excellent price but It needs some tlc. Engine and trans runs like a top, but under acceleration the car pulls to one side (control arm bushing??), and also needs new pads and radiator support. I will be pulling out the radio tonight to see if I can get the serial # to wipe a the ERR4 code I'm getting on the radio.

Aem digital boost gauge doesn't read over zero

Just like the title says, it won't read over zero when I'm under boost. Now, how I have my vacuum lines setup...I have a line that connected to boost gauge of course and I have that line connected to a tee barb that also connected to BOV which is connected to the intake mani. Could this be the reason why it won't read over zero? I have I my gauges wired to my 12v source (igintion wire) per a forum on her that I read on here. So any help would be appreciated thx

Ok installed the skunk2 IM on my 06 RSX type S and I'm having problems with it almost stalling. I figured it was the MAP sensor. My question is can't you Tee off the only vacuum line to the MAP sensor or do you actually need to drill into the manifold?

K20A2 Swap checklist / questions

My 04 Type S has close to 250K miles and it still drives, however i was able to find an used K20A2 with less than 100k miles for a decent price. This would be a straight swap with the same motor, i got a few questions.

1) Which way is easier to take the old motor out. Drop it along with the tranny along with the subframe or lift it up. ( My AC has a leak and all coolant is gone so i can unbolt the top AC line if needed )

2) Wiring harness. Do i need to pull the wiring harness out completely ( out of the firewall ) or i can unplug all the connectors.

3) ECU / Immobilizer. Do i need to do anything with the ECU or key it? Im guessing i don't have to since its the same exact motor.

Missing bolts for rear transmission mount

I bought this car 2 months ago and am still new to everything and I needed help with finding bolts for my rear transmission mount on my 05 type s I'm pretty sure it's missing a couple bolts.

car isn't pulling like I think it should has a lag in it

Hey I have a 2002 rsx type s and I need some help. I feel like my car doesn't pull like a rsx type s should. I did a pull on second and shift to third and I literally had the gas pedal all the way floored and the car was barely pulling at all. I had the problem happening for a while so I change the oil, and spark plugs and also tighten the throttle cable because it was loose. It helped with the slight lag put the problem is still there. I've been researching but haven't found what could cause my car to not be pulling like a k20a2 should. I feel like my car pulling like it is, it could get killed by anything. Idk if it's the clutch or what? Also I did a compression test and it came out fine. Just trying to figure out why it's not taking off when I have the pedal to the floor. Hopefully yall can help me out

Engine oil leak

I have an oil leak coming from the passenger side. I've done some research and I think it may be the vtec solenoid, the oil pressure sender, etc. I'm not too sure though. While the car is running I can see the droplets of oil but I'm not able to see exactly where the source of the lack is. I took some pictures in hopes that someone may be familiar with this oil leak and where it's likely coming from. Thanks.

H&R Spacer extended studs problem

Hey guys,

Spacers themselves are perfect fitment, studs however will not go in. They are m12x1.5 and thread my nuts. The problem is the splined part of the stud that is supposed to press into the hub is just too big.

I've tried every possible method, hammering, pulling, air gun, pressing. The press not working was the final straw. Is this a known issue that these studs dont fit our cars? Or did I get a mismatched box or what?

Clutch does not disengage!

Hi guys, I just bought a 2006 RSX Type S and after a week I'm having a major clutch issue!

My clutch does not disengage the engine even when I have it fully compressed to the floor. I basically have to stop the engine, put it in first, start the engine, and then once it's moving I will be able to change gears (albeit somewhat hard). I checked the clutch cylinder and the fluid level is just below the max indicator so it's not low on fluid.

I have scheduled an appointment with the Acura dealership tomorrow, but I want to know a bit before going in there. Does anyone know what the problems could be?


RANT:
This is complete bullshit because I even took the car into an Acura dealership to get it inspected when I got the car. They came out with a bunch of minor shit which I paid to get fixed. How in the hell they missed this is beyond me!

Hey there members of clubrsx I am a new member to clubrsx and a very new to my rsx just picked her up 2 months ago from out of state. Picked myself up a 2005 rsx type s jade metallic green. I love everything about the car so far, with the only accept ion being the rims previous owner had set up on it but they'll do for now. I'm not much of a form guy I'm more function then anything. What I would like to do to my car is ultimately in the end turbo it but for now simple mods will do headers, exhaust, intake (other bolt ons.) other then that that I have innovative motor mounts on the car with a aem v2 intake that came with the car and other then that all stock. I just recently purchased a v4 kpro so I will be getting a tune soon but bolt ons will come first to get more bang for my buck. Since I'm new I will try to be on here as much as possible learning as much as I can about the rsx so I can successfully reach my goal. And here is the car when I first picked it up. I will post the now picture but in separate post since it's too big for this post. :fistbump:

skunk2 exhaust question

hey,
so i was looking at getting the skunk2 exhaust for my 06 base rsx (part 413-05-1563)
i was looking around about whether it will fit right on or if i will need a header and i'm not quite sure what the answer is, i've seen people saying both and i'm not sure..
if i get this will i need any sort of header/other mods or will i just be able to bolt it right on and be good to go?

My A3 to A2 block conversion

I am beginning to process of converting my EP3 A3 block to an A2.

My EP-A3 has been turbo'd for nearly 10 years with around 300whp. As of late, I have been burning oil and compression has fallen off. 145 across all 4 (give or take).

I have decided, since I have to open it up, I might as well upgrade it (on a budget-ish...)

Here's the plan:

A2 Pistons (+ceramic coating)
A2 Rods
A2 Crank
A2 Oil Cooler w/ Water pump/passage assembly
-prelude or s2000 cooler joint
A2 Oil Pump w/ pan, baffle, chain, etc.



Superior Automotive in Anaheim is going to do the machining work:
-balance and polish the crank
-match piston rings and bearings to the rods and assemble the short block

Questions:

What piston rings do you recommend?
-Superior recommended Total Seal, thoughts?

Will I have any head/valve clearance issues with the A2 internals?

Will compression ratio be affected with the A2 internals? Will it still be 9.8:1, or up to the A2's 11.0:1?

Even if it's ok, should I replace the head gasket? If so, should I use an A3 or A2 head gasket?

Lastly, in terms of hp, we have all seen stock A2's make more than 450-500whp. I am not looking for that much power, but wanted to fall somewhere in the 350-380whp range. The A3 common breaking point is anything over 300whp (rods snap). What is the common breaking point number for the A2?

Toyota tech and former VW guy here.

Meeting a guy today to possibly trade for his 06 RSX with a k20 head and k24 bottom end.

Not to familiar with these motors. Is there a way to tell what head it is. Owner said the previous owner did all the work (2years 20k miles ago)

Is this a reliable car still. 93k on car.

Inspection Scanner Communication Error

I have recently failed an inspection because there was a communication error between the ecu and the inspection scanner (OTC scanner, I think). I was told that a regular Obd2 scanner hooks up just fine though. I tested this myself by stopping by an autozone for the free scan and sure enough the scanner powered up and ran through the tests to show everything was fine.

I have an 02 RSX Type S with Kpro V3. I have race headers installed, so the secondary O2 is turned off, but Obd2 emissions error checking is turned on and immobilizer is enabled. I checked for voltage in the k-line with the key turned on, not running, and its a steady, I believe it was, 11 volts. All the fuses are intact. I have a friend of a friend doing the inspection, so I will pass the visual test. I just need to pass the Obd2 check. I passed the inspection just fine 2 years ago with no problems. I'm sure I changed the calibration since then and stupid me I don't remember which calibration that was. Before I used to be able to set readiness k manager, but it seems that feature was removed and I read that it was no longer needed.

Does anyone know why this would be and what I could try to fix it?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have been researching and looking through the car and the calibration for a couple weeks looking for answers, but can't seem to figure this one out. :rest

Cruise control issue.

Hey, Everyone:

2006 RSX Base. 90,000 Miles. Automatic trans. I just recently had Honda replace the starter.

I tried to engage the cruise control today on the highway. I pressed the button near the door, pressed the 'set' button on the wheel, and started to ease my foot off the throttle.

All the lights on the button and the cluster lit up indicating same.

But when I let off the throttle, the speed started to drop and the car downshifted; I assume trying to get back up to speed. I canceled the CC and tried it again with the same results.

I can't remember if I had ever used the CC before the starter replacement. But since replacing the starter likely required removing the throttle body; it seems likely that a cable, connector or something wasn't correctly re-installed.

Nothing looks out of place to my eye. But if anyone can point me in a more specific direction; I'd appreciate it.

What's up guys, just wanted to swing in and say hi. Had my RSX for a long time, but just got a Mini and am thinking about a K20 swap.

The RSX is a 2003-S with A-Spec kit and suspension. I've got A-Spec rims too, just don't have tires yet. Typical I/H/E mods. Nothing fancy, but still is a fun car. Can't imagine how the Mini would feel with a K20 in it.

No crank

I've recently been having problems when I go to start my car. Sometimes I need to turn the key 2 times just to get it to start to crank and other times if I drive for an hr or so on the freeway and shut it off the car won't crank at all if I try to turn it on a few minute later. I was thinking it might be the starter, but was wondering if there could be any other causes for this ?

Help! Hood opened while driving. How can I fix my roof? Undent or replace it?

Would it be cheaper to replace the roof or fix the dent of my roof. Long story short, my upper tie bar is a mess and the hood latch began to break of it. The hood still closed but my guess is the last time I closed it, it didn't go all the way judging by how bent the tie bar was where the hood latch connects. My hood opened, smashed the windshield, dented the roof, and the hood is fucked to the joints. I want to fix the roof first because I can't put a new windshield on with it being dented.

New RSX owner

I just purchased an 2004 acura Rsx type S. It was purchased for my 15 1/2 year old son. It is his first car and (of course) his first manual transmission. The car has 126k miles. Very clean. It has a few upgredes I am not familiar with.
1) Handata ecru that I am very unfamiliar with
Other upgrades seem self explanatory.
Tein full adjustable suspension.
AEM cold air intake
DC header
Greedy full exhaust
We did swap Stock rims for 17x7 drag wheels with Hancock tires
Any suggestions or info/insight into the vehicle would be appreciated.

So i'm in the middle of buying a rebuilt 2006 rsx base with 97 miles on it for 3.6k. Should i buy it?

I'm not putting the Mercedes CLA as I know its a decent car down but he said he would have picked it over a new s2k had they both been new. Prices aside , what would you guys go with? He told me im blinded by being a tuner as I love the s2k.... and I said he like old folk cars like caddis and stuffs :laughat:. We are both in our low to mid 20s at the time being

Mugen Mid Bar L Bracket HELP *ADVICE*

So i just installed my mugen rep mid bar, and am curious how many people actually removed or kept the L brackets on... I've seen people do both.

I was able to keep mine on, assuming thats whats best...
what do people normally do?? take them off or keep on.

I know the authentic mugen bar comes with a template to just out the hole, and nothing about removing them...

Suggestions??:dontknow:

I have had my rsx type s for 6 years and I have not really shown any love to it. I am starting at the ground and moving up. I would like to get a diagram of the front and rear suspension so I will know what to replace. I appreciate any help you guys could give.

Bose Stereo Dead

Hey Guys,

So one day I turn on my car and I don't know how to explain it but when I turned the key to start the car, I had a weird feeling and next thing you know the radio is does not turn on.

The lights on the dash everything is on as normal but the radio is completely dead my cassette adapter wont even eject. I went to auto zone to change both fuses (7.5A and 10) relating the audio and bose fuses to no luck.

I have yet to bring it to a shop but is all hope lost ? Do I have to buy a whole new audio unit or is there some way to fix this?

Any input would be great thanks guys ! :thumbsup:

Copying aspec with my j10s

So I got some enkei J10s on my nhbp rsx but the J10s are black with a polished lip and it just doesn't sit right with the color of my car. Since J10s look some what like the aspecs i figured why not try to copy their color. Anyone know where I can buy a spray thats similar to the aspec wheels?

Car makes metal grinding noise

When im first gear let say im at 3000 rpm then let go the gas it makes rubbing metal kind of noise in the front right i believe. i try this over and over it happens but what i notice is that it goes away when i press in the clutch or let it roll neutral instead. So what i got out of it that the noise goes away when in neutral or when i clutch in while rolling. It is not my heat shield because i installed skunk 2 alpha header. So either my header is rubbing my sway which is weird because the noise goes away when clutch in or maybe change brake fluid?

FS: 05-06 OEM headlights mint!

Please help, headlight wiring problem. Car has been at the garage forever.

Long story short I bought an 06 Rsx type s with an r title and needed to get it inspected. The car had hid headlights. The guy inspecting it took them out and made me get Oem headlights. That's neither here nor there. The thing is I did not realize the Oem headlights I ordered did not come with bulbs or sockets. He said the ones from the hids will not work. I messed up and bought a whole engine bay harness for the car thinking that's what he needed when he said harness. He said there is a separate wire that runs from the socket, that plugs into the engine bay harness. I talked to another guy at Acuraoemparts.com and he said there is no separate wire, he said once you have the bulbs and sockets that go in the headlights the harness from the engine bay should plug right into that. I have no idea if that is true or not, or if there is a separate adapter type piece that goes from the socket to the harness.. Someone please help, I am very stressed over this. I need my car for work and it's been in the garage sitting for over a month now, for what I thought was going to be a quick inspection.
