Hey guys. So I am in need of a new catalytic converter. It kinda went out last week. I say "kinda" because this morning, the car got it's power restored again. So it's on and off type thing but recently it has been giving me problems. The car has 257xxx miles on it and I do not know when a new catalytic converter needs to be replaced at every xx miles but the converter that is on now, I am hearing a metal grinding/rattling sound from it.
Here's the thing, I want to get a test pipe instead of a catalytic converter for less restriction but all the test pipes I see online are for type s systems. So my question is: what would I need to bolt a type s test pipe to my stock header and skunk2 exhaust? If it's too much work, then I'm just gonna forget the whole idea and just install a oe replacement catalytic converter. But any help and feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
