Hey guys, quick question (kinda not really clickbait) lol
My plan is to install a pre-amp in place of the headunit, since I'm working on my Nexus 7 Dash kit. Click here if you'd like to see.
As seen below, I'm using the good ole Metra harness. Speaker wires are ezpz, Remote will be bypassed ezpz, black/red ezpz, so those are out of the question.
It's the yellow 12v battery connection that's my concern.
The pre-amp, pictured below, I aim to use (and many other designs) does not have a Yellow Wire insertion/connection. I understand that its 12v constant power purpose is to keep the memory of the headunit, however I'll be deleting it.
My quick question is, is it necessary to still have the yellow wire connected to something even though it's a pre-amp (no memory needed)? Can I just bypass that wire into red?
Or is that golden knob where I twist the yellow wire into? Or am I just blind/crazy? Thanks!
