Hey guys im new to the forum here, came from an Evo X and now own a 2004 Rsx type S. I am having a problem where the CEL turns on and off. For example the CEL will be on for about 20 miles or so of driving and during that time the car seems like it idles normally but car feels sluggish but still drives fairly normal, however if I floor the gas pedal it will barely accelerate and not go past 5500rpm but if I just give a normal amount of pressure of gas it will still go past the 5500rpm mark, just when I floor it its like all power from the motor is gone.
Now when the CEL goes off by itself after some miles of driving the car will run basically perfectly fine and idles perfect, car pulls like it should and doesn't feel sluggish anymore.
I went to autozone and had the cel checked and they told me the camshaft position sensor is going bad. I would like your guys expertise and opinion on this before I dish out the money on these sensors as they are kinda expensive.
One more question is does the Rsx have 2 camshaft position sensors? I was told by the autozone guy that I need to buy two of the sensors since the rsx has two.
I looked everywhere on the threads but couldn't find anything to match my problem.
