It's me again, with more timing trouble. This time, I was actually driving the car when it jumped, and it was pretty violent.
As of now, it will crank at 250+ rpm with no ominous noises. I can manually turn the crank without hearing anything bad. My timing chain is intact but quite loose, so I think the tensioner went. The cam gears aren't even in time with each other.
I'm wondering, does anyone know of a way to check the valves without first setting the timing? I'd like to avoid doing that job twice if my head is fucked.
Also, has anyone had problems with rock auto parts before? All the shit I bought was Beck/Arnley.
Thanks in advance.
