Sup yo, decided I'd post my progress and somewhat of a DIY/tip guide to make an exhaust tip heat shields for a bumper. I see quite a lot of people with burnt bumpers due to their exhaust tip. I haven't had any problems myself and I know the proper fix is to just hang the exhaust lower, but I figured an exhaust tip shield like this wouldn't hurt. Maybe it'll come out looking good too lol who knows, let's see how this comes out.
Feel free to follow this but...
I AM NOT LIABLE FOR ANY OF YOUR FUCK UPS :coffee:
For this example, I will be working on an 05-06 ASPEC lip.
First, i'll be doing a trial with normal fiberglass cloth and resin first just to practice. It'd be wise to, instead of diving straight into real carbon fiber lol
Both fiber cloth and carbon fiber cloth seem to be very similar to handle compared to each other.
1. Start off by taping the exhaust area off with masking tape.

2. Cut out a generally large sized piece of cloth to fit over exhaust area and hold it in place with some more tape

3. Mix some resin up

4. Liberally coat the area/cloth with resin and try your best to contour the cloth accordingly to the bends and corners, as well as smoothing out any air bubbles. Best to use a fiberglass roller.
Notice how I didn't coat the whoooooole entire cloth. I only coated the cloth particularly to the shape of how I want it to be.

Stay tuned for more! Feel free to ask any questions or suggest something
