I just had my engine rebuilt, unfortunately the gas was three years old. I was told to run it out and in the process have burned through two tanks of gas, it is running better but still not 100%
My car has been down for 3 years and I am anxious to get it running. I am very close! My 2012 JCW just got a new engine due to a bad injector. So I am going though the fuel system and ensuring everything is the way it should be.
Cleaned IACV
MAP replaced - Old Map was for 2002-2004 (mechanic put on wrong one)
Primary O2 sensor replaced
New set of Laser Iridium Spark plugs
Injectors are in process of being rebuilt
Drained all gas, removed fuel pump and vacuumed the tank out
That leaves me with the fuel pump. The screen / aka filter looks okay.
I read where the filter / pump is good "forever" and then read here "forever" means 150K. Not sure if the 150k is for the fuel pump, screen or both.
Any advice is greatly appreciated!:hb:
