Retrofit gremlins

Hey guys,

Built some retrofits and attempted to install last weekend, but ran into some gremlins. Figured y'all experts can help. The previous owner put in a HID kit so relay is already in place.

I wired the retrofits as follows:

Low beam bulb --> low beam ballast
Bixenon shield actuator --> high beam (+) and high beam (-)
Halo --> fog light (+) and high beam (-)
Halo switchback --> turn signal (+)

The low and high beam worked fine, but affected the halo for some reason. Halo wired to fog lamp, so it turned on with parking lights (fog lamps always on with parking lights/low beams)

When parking lights were on (one click on stalk), halo was dim
When low beams were on (two clicks on stalk), halo was off
When high beams were on, halo was full brightness

Any ideas why this might have happened? Is it possible that these problems were caused by halo connected to high beam ground? Unfortunately I didn't try wiring halo negative to fog negative at the time.

Also, did any of you wire your halos into something that is always on (vs. fog lights which are only on with parking lights)? The only other wires in the passenger headlight area are for the engine harness and tapping into that seemed risky.
