So im trying to decide between a few different gearsets, and im leaning towards ppg 1st - 4th straight cuts. The issue I am having is that the rpm drop from 1st to 2nd gear is significant.
I currently have a k24a2 with:
manley turbo tuff rods
wiseco pistons
k20 oil pump
supertech 100# valve springs and retainers.
aftermarket bearings (cannot recall bearings used)
The engine still has stock 'sleeves', cams, and valves.
I've read that a stock k24a2 should not be revved much more that 8000rpm, but does anyone have any insight on revving higher with the supporting mods I currently have? Im currently revving to 8500 and the rpm drop is down to 5400 in second gear which is fairly low with a 62mm turbo. Would taking it to 9000 be a significant jump in rpm?
What would be limiting factor(s) that would need to be addressed?
I don't post often--ever actually. Usually I can find what I'm looking for just searching. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated!
