KTuned Tie rod and spherical tie rod end kit

Does anybody have this installed on their car? Part# KTD-TRO-RSX I know they are supposed to be installed inverted. Just wondering what are the small conical black metal pieces it came with are for. Im trying to install mine seems pretty straight forward just wanted to make sure if those are necessary. If anyone would advise that would be great.
