2002 Acura RSX Base 5 speed manual has been having this issue with startup for about 5 months now. Progressively got worse over time and now this is where It is.
When turning the key on cold start it does this loud cranking/banging noise a few times before starting up.
Once it's started it has no issues running, and the warmer the engine is the less time and less chance it has of making this horrid noise.
In the link video I turn it on and it does the cranking, then I shut it off. I repeat this process a few times, and you can hear the cranking go away the more times it is turned on and 'warms up'
Simply have no idea what it is, and I'm hoping someone here has any idea what this could be and what I might need replaced.
I've changed oil and transmission fluid to no avail.
