Hey guys, I have a 2003 acura rsx. It is an automatic with sport shift. 2.0L I-vtec.
It has 274,868 kms. I am the 2nd owner and it has had regular oil changes with mostly a semi synthetic oil but for a short time at one point a full synthetic. It has only ever run 89 octane for one tank and the majority at 93 with the occasional 94 octane.
I have had a very loud knock in the engine shortly after I bought it. It knocks when it idles and the knock speed increases when increasing the throttle. There has been no loss in power that I have noticed, or any sort of performance issues. I have had the car at speeds up to 210km per hour (not recommended to any driver no matter their driving skill) and there still has been no indication of the problem becoming worse. I have driven with this knock for a little more than 3 months and 17000kms. Dumb, I know. The only light on the dash is Maintenance required and that has only recently come on in the last couple of weeks or 1000kms
Can anybody shine a light on the problem I am having?
