K20a3 swap

So I have done a little bit of research and it's probably not going to produce a 10 second car but whatever....I drive a 2002 Acura rsx base model 2.0 k 20 a3. It is a manual five speed. Something recently went horribly wrong and it's knocking something fierce....long story short I've decided to just replace the engine....I have found a 2006 base model with a k20 a3 in it....it's also a automatic. Will this engine work for me. I have read where I could need k pro or Hondata if I was swapping to a k20 a2 or k24 something like that but is that necessary if I'm swapping straight for another a3? Also will year difference mine being a 2002 manual and the donor car being a 2006 automatic.....any info or input would be great I'm new to the foreign world thanks in advance
