Alright so I just picked up my 02 Type S a few weeks ago. When I got the car I noticed the poor gas mileage, I'd say around 17MPG. I was aware of a bad primary oxygen sensor when I went to advanced auto they scanned it for me and it also had a map sensor code.(I can go back and get the numbers). The car can rev all the way out( I should probably stop testing that)
So, today I started up the car and let it warm up on my lunch break. I hppped out to check the oil as usual to check for any loss.(I don't think it burns any yet but idk for sure) as I pull the stick I notice the engine started making a deep rumble. I immediately knew to pull offf the oil cap. There was air puffing out of it, I could feel it against my hand and it was about the strength of a hair dryer maybe less when it would discharge. I didn't see any smoke, it was just air. Are my rings about done, or is it normal? I just hit 120k miles.
Also if anybody had the same codes and were running rich, did you replace those sensors to fix the problem?
