Possible fix to common 2/3rd gear problem

After installing a new transmission in my baby I wanted to take it into a local shop and have them once over everything and make sure I didn't mess anything up.

Found out that I made 1 mistake, I forgot to torque the transmission drain plug bolt. :dontknow: Really dumb mistake I know.

So we get into a long conversation about everything to make sure the things they couldn't check were installed correctly. On the topic of adding the oil, he had a very interesting method on the k series transmissions they worked on their. He said if you add from the interlock bolt it helps lubricate everything more on its way down, and that doing this every 2 oil changes(6,000 miles) will keep the transmission from eating the second gear.

I figured I would let them do the oil change this way and see how it was, upon getting home I checked my fill bolt to see the level and it was a good bit overfull so I drained it to its normal level. Part of my thinks he had no idea about k series and was just playing me after seeing it wasn't at the correct level.

Thoughts on this? Couldn't find anything online about adding mtf fluid from your interlock bolt. Has me worried now about possible negative effects, so any information regarding this would also be helpful.
