Hi all, just looking for some advice. This is an 02 base auto with a reflash, exhaust and CAI. About 90k imles.
Symptoms in order of appearance:
1) Smoky exhaust and lots of buildup in the exhaust tip in the mornings with strong fuel smell
2) Bad primary 02 sensor (changed it and cleared code, hasn't come back)
3) Changed spark plugs. Two out of the four seemed to have a burnt brown residue on it
4) Went to check oil and level went from top dot on the stick to bottom dot in about 2k miles. It's never done that before and there are no visible leaks.
Care seems to run and drive fine, though I do believe there is power loss. Doesn't feel as snappy as before. Starts up like a champ. Gas mileage is garbage in stop and go, like 18mpg, but when I highway and canyon (lots of high revs), I get 24mpg
Is the next step a compression test? Is it safe to drive the car in this state or do I risk more damage.
