sup guys, i just got back my ecu from hondata a little while ago, plugged it in as well as the immobilizer, i turned it on for about 8 minutes and then went to drive it, it felt great everything was good however the vtec kick in at 4k doesn't feel like regular vtec is this normal? like there isn't that that much more power gain than normal at that point
however it does feel faster past 5500 rpms. my car definitely does feel a little quicker now, just not as much as i expected maybe cause of the reviews i've been reading on here made me expect more? not sure, but another thing is when it kicks in during the vtec window it sounds a little like rattling in a way? not sure how to explain it, it just doesn't sound like how vtec would kick in normally before.
and also i purchased the reflash, but it came in a kpro box with a usb cable, 2 hondata stickers, a hondata license plate frame, and 2 wiring harness things, is this normal? and i got some instructions saying exactly this
"it is very important that the ground from the wiring harness to the engine (G101) makes good electrical contact with the cylinder head. Otherwise the return path for the sensors, ignition and vtec may be through the ecu case to the vehicle body, which may damage the ecu and/or programmable board inside the ecu. the recommend positions for the engine ground is either on a stud attached to the cylinder head or the transmission end of the cylinder head"
now i'm not entirely sure on what this means or how to do the engine ground thing, but from what i've read a lot of people have been saying it should just be plug and play right? i don't want to mess up my ecu or anything else, does anyone know if this is normal? or if they've received anything like this? at first i thought they gave me a kpro, cause of everything that came in it, but i didn't get a disc so I'm not sure
