Hey so I've had this problem for awhile (like since wintertime), and it doesn't seem like it's really hurting anything since it's gone on so long and I haven't had anything break, but it's really annoying and I just want to figure out what's making the noise and get it fixed. It makes the noise only at around 2500 rpm, not at 2000, and not at 3000. It makes it while I'm driving and when I'm at a standstill in neutral if I rev the engine. I've taken it in to Bergstrom and they basically said it would be at least $800 to diagnose because they would have to take out the trans and/or clutch because they think it could be one of those two. Just wondering if anyone has any experience with something like this or has any ideas as to what it might be. I would greatly appreciate it!
Metal on metal whirring noise ONLY at 2500 rpm
