I made/assembled a big brake kit for my 04 Type S that used the RL calipers and 350Z Rotors. I took dimensions, modeled a bracket using CAD, and machined the brackets to the drawing.
The fit is TIGHT. It has about 1-1.5mm clearance between rotor and caliper on all surfaces inside the rotor channel. The fit with the wheel I am running is also tight. (see photos)
I have been running this setup for a few months now and it is performing very well. I did not change any of the lines, brake cylinder, or proportioning valve. The car brakes a little heavy front and you can feel the rear want to push around if you are braking moderately hard around a corner while going 60+. Upgraging to an adjustable proportioning valve would help this I believe. The ABS still works normally to prevent lockup.
Thought some of you might be interested.
Other info:
Rotor: 2006 350Z (Brembo); Dia-324mm; no hubcentric ring ( it's pretty close ;))
Caliper: 2006 Acura RL 4-pot
Wheel: 17", 45mm offset
Pardon the dusty wheels.
